Business Development Director: RWE

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Director, Business Development, Center for Real World Evidence to join our growing team!  The ideal candidate is an experienced business development professional with a “hunter” mindset who has a passion for helping clients demonstrate the value of their therapies. He/she has demonstrated proven success selling real world evidence to life sciences clients and academia. He/she is interested in advancing research related to the clinical, economic and health impacts of traditional medicines and therapeutic alternatives, including those derived from cannabinoids. He/she has an entrepreneurial spirit, a high level of curiosity, is a critical thinker and problem solver and values collaboration with clients and internal teams.  He/she will be responsible for directing all phases of business development from prospecting through study kick off and nurturing the client relationship to support growth of our business.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director, Business development will play a critical role and contribute to the growth of the Practice and the organization. Responsibilities include:

  • Generate new opportunities with life sciences, cannabis, and government clients for traditional and novel real world evidence research
  • Lead and “own” activities throughout the sales cycle from prospecting through contracting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams ensuring the best solution for the client.
  • Effectively communicate and position capabilities and Forian differentiate and value with clients.
  • Support brand positioning and customer retention.
  • Actively participate in industry conferences.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in business, marketing, biology, healthcare analytics, epidemiology, health services research.
  • 7+ Years proven track record of success in a sales/business development role selling real world evidence research to life sciences clients.
  • Experience developing and growing book of business, nurturing and expanding client relationships.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a “hunter” mindset, consultative selling approach with clients.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking skills and ability to identify and drive creative approaches to changing market conditions.
  • Deep understanding of the nuances of medical, pharmacy, hospital claims data and application of real world research in each phase of the pharmaceutical product development process.
  • Passionate about the role of real world evidence in the changing healthcare and cannabis industry.
  • Self-starter who enjoys contributing to the growth of an organization.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and CRM (Salesforce a plus).
  • Track record and ability to initiate, develop and close business and effectively manage pipeline of opportunities.
  • Ability to work remote, independently; 25% travel expected post-COVID.
